John Daniel, Cascadia Wildlands team up to support Rogue Wilderness

Cascadia Wildlands is presenting local author John Daniel and a slideshow about its efforts to safeguard Oregon’s Wild and Scenic Rogue River. Daniel will read from his newest book, Rogue River Journal: A Winter Alone, at the beginning of the event — it’s in the top five books I’ve read this year. It was also awarded a 2006 PNBA Book Award by the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. The Bookslut did a nice writeup of the book.

Cascadia Wildlands is putting on the event to raise awareness about logging plans targeting old-growth forests in the Rogue Region. For more info, check: www.savethewildrogue.org.

The free presentation will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 6:30 at the Eugene downtown library’s Tykeson Room.
