We have attempted to climb the trail to summit Bohemia Mountain several times, but always on the fringe of the seasons. Early spring, we were getting bored of the Spencer’s Butte, Mt. Pisgah and Goodman Creek runs. We tried coming out here twice, both times turned back by ice on the road just past the Brice Creek Trestle trail.
This time, we were sure we would get to the top (or at least the trailhead), see the view of the Row River, Dorena Lake and Cottage Grove, maybe check out the old mining ghost town. But no luck. Snowed out — already. Rather than drop off the side of a ravine or get stranded in the snow, we tured back and settled for a Brice Creek run. Photos below:
