  2. Myrtlewood leaves are bay leaves. Collect some, dry them, put them in your stew.

    I understand why one nickname is the headache tree though. My dad and I brought some home for my mom once from a property in Hillsboro, to Beaverton. We had splitting headaches for about an hour later.

    Smell in short whiffs – use for cooking.

    Looking forward to getting to the Brookings area again. I usually use Harris Beach as a base camp.
