New green blog for Eugene, Oregon

This weekend my coworker Leah Rosin and I launched a new blog GoGreenEugeneOregon.com. It’s blog about environmental issues and sustainable living in the Lane County area of Oregon. We plan to write about Oregon environmental concerns, eating local, saving energy in our homes and supporting local green businesses.

Do I need another blog? Probably not. But I thought Eugene needed something like this. And based on the success of the Fly Fishing Blog, I had an idea that pro-blogging could become a little more lucrative with the right topic and content.

Looking for feedback on the new site. Let me know what you think. If you’re just going to say “Another blog, you’re insane…” save it. I already know.

Please stay skeptical to the new Chinese solar company started here in Eugene called Centron Solar! They are here to take our govt. subsidized renewable energy $ and send them back to their Chinese govt. subsidized manufacturer in China. Their business plan is to go from City to city and announce hundreds of jobs in times of double digit unemployment to gain the favor of the local authorities and press. Their product is therefore not even competitive in terms of pricing as they can sell mass quantities far below the break even point of our already established solar market.
