Trout fishing in America: Almost forgot why I moved to Oregon in the first place

Over the last year or two, I’ve gotten snobby about my fishing, took it to this esoteric zen level where it’s only fun to chase big huge anadromous fish (that are biologically programmed NOT TO BITE) and pursue this ritualistic ass beating that comes as a result of trying to capture endangered dwindling species by what might be the least effective means possible in the shittiest weather imaginable. That’s right, I’m talking about winter steelhead and salmon fishing with a fly rod. Or even occasionally worse, chasing an epic offshore bite for turbocharged albacore, withstanding horrible bone shattering runs of up to 75 miles in high seas in a small boat. I kind of forgot about trout. So I’m back now. Thanks Trout for making fishing fun again.
